The Set (Up)
The Set (Up) is an intricately woven choreographic maze in satin, sequins, and silver high heals. All at once hilarious, lost, clever, and sad, this performance is full of careful, elaborate, and ridiculous preparations for a show that never begins.
The Australian Choreographic Centre, Canberra, September 2004 The Performance Space presented by Onextra, April 2005 Dancehouse, Melbourne in 2006 Osaka (Dancebox) and Matsuyama, Japan, 2006
"Make no mistake, these women are gorgeous, and, despite the studied ineptness, it is clear they are also beautiful movers".
Hilary Crampton, The Age 2006.
"A performance by turns glamorous, calamitous, awkward, hilarious and heartbreaking. Absolute failure never looked this good."
David Williams, Realtime 2004.
"Movement is equally dynamic, with lengthy pauses punctuating sometimes graceful, sometimes awkward and stumbling, pushing and shoving. Structure, pace and choreographic progression are all in evidence, testimony to the craftsmanship of The Fondue Set".
Larry Ruffell, Canberra Times 2004.
